I’ve always been a Janet fan…from Penny on Good Times to Janet at 50+. My friends and I had originally purchased tickets to her show in Atlanta, which was postponed because she paused the tour to give birth. It was a good reason, but we opted for the refund. My friends and I had already decided that we were willing to travel to see Nas and Lauryn Hill…but those had sold out before we could get it together. Fast forward…Janet’s tour was back on…but all of the good seats were now gone. However, the new dates were in my birthday season. Toronto was the show during my birthday weekend, so off to Canada we flew. I planned our itinerary, which included a visit to Niagara Falls and a winery tour. It was an amazing weekend, in a beautiful (and cold) city, with great friends and one of the best concerts ever. I am now a firm believer that it’s better to travel to see a concert, that driving to the arena from your home.
